Sensationnel Fab Fringe Wig Review!

 Wig Review

I know.. I'm not the best blogger out there. There are some periods where I constantly update and others it's like tumble weed rolling through .. Lol.

What's new?.. Well

  • I am now living in Canada. Currently a student
  • I am still having hair troubles. Looking back on this blog where my hair thrived, it is just disappointing because it's like no mater what I do my hair is not bouncing back and I feel its just getting worse. Sigh *Tear*

       && Drum roll please :D

I am rocking a WIG. Afterall it's the reason for this blog post :D

This the first day after unboxing

Why a wig?

Wellbeing in a new country with a new climate and my hair just constantly shedding and just getting thinner and I feel weaker I just had to do something to put it away. I choose the Sensationnel Fab Fringe because I liked the look. The cut was cute and thought it would have looked good with my face shape.

The Review...

I bought this wig from Blackhairspray in the colour 1b. It cost me 31USD in total which includes the cost of the wig and to ship it to Canada. This was much better than buying it here because I saw it on 'Canadian black hair' website for $60 and that did not include shipping (I know that crazy right!)

Let me say it took a while to get here. Over a week. When I got it I didn't d anything to it like I have many of the ladies cut it to their specifications. I thought it was fine as it. I really liked it the first week and then second week I tried to add some curl/wavy pattern to it but that was an EPIC fail. The thing didn't curl it just made it look like a birds nest. But I got that sorted out with a flat iron and just putting it back in the bag it came in. One thing about the hair is that at the front, there is something definitely off with the colors. There's a part that's obviously a #1 but the wig I ordered is a 1B.. That's just strange and I don't care for it.

When it first arrived the bang laid perfectly but now its all over the place. This I don't mind cause I can control and I don't like hair that looks all neat and every single strand in place ALL THE TIME. The longer you wear it the less wiggy it looks so that's a good thing. But one thing I am really annoyed by this wig is its level of shedding. When I unboxed it the hair was falling out from everywhere and these weren't single strands. Two weeks after it still sheds but not as much as when I first opened the package. Also, the adjustable straps aren't very useful to me. I have to either keep them unhooked or just hooked on the first strap because the hair would just rise at the back and not lay flat. I don't think this is a norm...So...

Pros:
  • Nice cut
  • Doing it purpose as acting as protective style
  • Affordable- depends on where you buy though
  • Looks less wiggy with time

Cons:
  • Didn't curl well
  • Ordered 1b but there are visible #1 colors
  • The back straps are useful
  • Don't like the comb to the back

So would I recommend this wig to anyone else?

Of course I would! When its useless to me I would probably buy again but just not from blackhairspray. I really think your experience with the hair is heavily dependent on where you purchase the hair.

Henna Day :)

This weekend I dubbed full strength henna weekend. The last treatment I did was probably back in January if not December so I was in need of it. So once I knew I had my henna boxes available there was nothing to stop me.

The Process:
Friday morning(Yes this kinda ..almost made me late for work) at about 6:50am I mixed my henna powder box. I used an entire 100g box plus two other packages that I ha in the freezer left over from past treatments. I mixed the powder up with a cup of two tea bags of  green tea and one black tea brewed.  Mixed it up until the consistency resembles yogurt. I covered it up and let it sit on the counter until I got home at about 7pm.

As I got home I added some bhringraj powder, cocout oil and honey to the henna mixture. I hopped in the shower and clarified with my ORS+ baking soda shampoo mixture then followed up with my Elasta qp Creme shampoo. My hair felt very clean and soft .. thumbs up! I let my hair dry to 80% and then added the henna. I did not detangle simple out of laziness, I detangled before washing and wanted the process to be over. At about 10pm I had applied the mixture to my entire head. I saran wrapped put on a plastic bag then bonnet and went to chill until bed time.

The next morning I got up after 10am got my barings together then opt to go outside and hose down the henna out of my head. I decided to use the  hose cause I did not want to mess the bathroom up. It made the process much easier. OMG.. guys I cowashed  with  Herbal essences Hello Hydration and it was the best decision ever! Its one of the products I used back then that I stopped and now. Aussie moist deeeeep conditioner cannot hold a candle to it! My hair felt like butter! Like seriously. Before I would cowash with Aussie and it was just "Uhhh" and my hair didnt feel soft or even good.

It took about three cowash wot get most of it out and then deep conditioned with my Keracare Humecto +JBCO +CO+HE HH with heat for 30 minutes. I loved the results of the hello hydration so much I added it to my DC.

Conclusion:
This was the best henna treatment ever. After I dried (Air and blow dry) and moisturised my hair is soft especially my new growth, its flowy and feels so healthy. Where I am at the moment makes me feel that I can stretch much longer but I doubt I will lol.  Henna treatments is something I plan to keep on doing.

LOL!

New Acne Regimen: Dermatologist prescribed

In my last post and update in ages I talked about how I have been experiencing some serious acne flare ups and  had no idea what was causing them. I decided I couldn't not take it any longer, nothing I tried was working. I just kept on getting more and  more pimples and they are just leaving these horrible scars on my face. They are all on the right corner of my forehead- down the temple - just above the cheek bone. Then I have random marks left from pimples on other areas on my face. I would post pictures for you guys to see but lol.. I'm waay too embarrassed. Maybe one day I will get the courage.

Anyway, I went to the derm last week Thursday. We talked , tried to figure out what was causing me to break out but she seemed to have no clue herself. I'm not on birth control, don't take any oral medication.. basically I do nothing that would cause me to break out!. The only thing that we kinda thought what might have caused it was the Milk of Magnesia I was using to combat my oiliness . but that itself I have doubts about because I was using it in my T zone and I'm not breaking out in that area.

In the end she prescribed topical treatments for me. She wanted to start me on antibiotics but I have never been on them before and wouldn't know how i would have reacted so in a effort not to make matters worse she held off. What she did give me as  1. Duac Gel and Retin- A

Duac Gel

This is something new for me. I have to use it once a day in the morning. I normally apply it and leave that alone since I am at home most of the time and dont need sun screen. I apply it by slightly rubbing it in and then smearing it over the face. What I have to figure out now is how it will look when I have to apply it then sunscreen when I go back to work.

Rentin- A
New for me as well, I know some people use this a lot. This I apply every night in a pea size amount & after 20 mins of washing the face as I heard from many reviewd from youtube and other sites.

Neutrogena Acne Wash
New to me as well. She suggested I use this because of the salicylic acid in it. I had been using Cerave Foaming cleanser before but I bought this because the Dr suggested it.

In all this was a very expensive visit.. wow I can't believe how much money I spent! Lol. It has been about 5 days so I can't really comment on these products. I have seen some pimples gone though but I believe those are just the regular menstrual acne that I get every time that time of month comes around. So I'm not doing the happy dance as yet. Lol :] She also said these products are very drying BUT I know I have extremely Oily skin so I was not worried. I was right.. the only part of my face that has gotten dry is my upper lip and a bit around my mouth.. My skin is that oily! Nothing dries this baby

In 3 weeks I have to go back for a progress report and then hopefully start dealing with getting rid of the acne scars. So my question to everyone.. Have you ever used these products before? How was your reaction? What do you think?

My Experience: Gro Aut Oil

Gro Aut Oil... I first heard of it from a group on hairlista which I am a member. I wanted something that I could oil my scalp with so I did my research and stumbled upon different products but settled on trying this oil.

This oil claims to :

"Promotes hair growth by penetrating the hair shafts driving herbal nutrients into the hair follicles. Customer reviews reveal that gro-aut oil "Fills bald patches, reverses hair loss, or simply grows the long hair you have always desired". With use of this herbal oil and our Gro-Aut shampoo, hair appears to 'grow out' overnight! You'll see noticeable results in as little as 7 days. For the best results, follow our hair care regime."

Here's what I got:

I did not follow their regimen as I had one of my own an also there a tons of ladies who have used this oil and do not follow the regimen and has received great results. I have been using this oil for 7 months and throughout those months I've ordered two 4 oz bottles. My second is still about 2 oz. I used this oil every other day and most of the times on a clean scalp.

Pros:

  • Nourished my scalp
  • Thickened new growth
  • Made my hair somewhat stronger
  • Love the smell (Some people don't like it)

Cons:

  • Shedding was too much to handle
  • Didn't increase my hair growth

..So I really liked the way it thickened my new growth and my scalp is thanking me for it but I will not continue using that as a staple to oil my scalp. Yes, I really like it but I will not be buying it continuously so that I don't run out. Maybe I will use it once in a while. I did not like the fact that it didn't do what I want- promote my hair growth- and the shedding is unbearable. So I am back on my quest to find something that will help promote my hair growth because I am such a slow grower.

Give Gro aut oil a chance though. It may not have helped me the way I wanted but its a good oil and it may work with you. Here is the link so that you can check out the oil and other products. Gro Aut
